Kathy Dodson

I am excited and happy to be with the Resource Family Training Institute. I am a mom, grandma, prior foster and adoptive parent, and have been a relative care provider. I have worked as a social worker in the Tri-Cities DCFS office for 20 years. I began my career with Children's Administration as an after-hours worker and have worked in CPS intake and investigation, CWS, FRS and in special projects. I have had the privilege of working with many families, foster families, relative providers and our community's service providers.

For the last 7 years I was foster care coordinator and I love working with foster parents and with relatives caring for their families' children. I certainly appreciate your commitment to protect, nurture and care daily for our communities' children who come to us from increasingly difficult situations and with increasingly difficult needs and behaviors. I am honored to help prepare our resource families and to support your ongoing training needs.

I truly believe "knowledge is power". I invite foster parents, relatives and staff to share your experience and thoughts as we plan future trainings and workshops.
