Home and Community Based Services Waiver Program

Waiver Overview

The Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD) now offers five Medicaid Home and Community Based Services (HCBS) waivers. Four waivers - Basic, Basic Plus, Core, and Community Protection – were renewed effective April 1, 2007. The newest waiver, the Children’s Intensive In-home Behavioral Support (CIIBS) waiver was effective May 1, 2009.  Each of the five waivers provide an array of services tailored to the specific populations they serve.

Waiver services provide additional support when Medicaid state plan services and other supports are not sufficient.  For more information about the waiver program, contact your Case Resource Manager, Social Worker, or regional DDD office.
