“The mission of the Mental Health Division is to promote recovery and safety.”
MHD Quality Improvement
In late 2004, the Mental Health Division began a journey to transform the Washington State publicly funded mental health care system into one that fosters recovery, resiliency, and stigma reduction. This vision underscores and provides an impetus for statewide initiatives and processes already in place to bring mental health customers and stakeholders together to improve quality of care, access, and client outcomes.
Two drivers for transformation can be found on this page: MHD’s quality strategy and the current MHD Strategic Plan. Links to Eastern State and Western State Hospital performance improvement activities are also available. Numerous aspects of statewide quality improvement are provided for review via committee charters, minutes, and reports on quality improvement initiatives. A proposal packet for statewide quality improvement opportunities is located in the Document section.
We welcome your comments on this page and on draft documents
we have posted, and encourage your participation in statewide quality improvement
initiatives.
