Detoxification Services (DASA)


What services are provided:
Detoxification services assist patients who are intoxicated due to alcohol and/or other drug use; and patients who are experiencing withdrawal symptoms from alcohol and other drugs use.

  • Acute detoxification occurs in a medical setting and provides medical care and physician supervision for withdrawal symptoms.
  • Sub-acute detoxification occurs in a home like environment in which patients may self-administer medications ordered by a physician and approved by the physician for use while the patient is in the detoxification facility.

Who is eligible: Youth who are between 13 and 17 years of age. Adults who are 18 years of age or older.

Income and Resource Limits: Services that are provided at publicly funded facilities are provided at no cost to the patient.

Program Requirements: Must be intoxicated from alcohol and other drugs and/or experiencing withdrawal symptoms.

Other Requirements: None.
