Inpatient/Residential Treatment (DASA)

What needs program covers:
Intensive inpatient services are employed to provide patients with a concentrated program of individual and group counseling, education, and activities for detoxified alcoholics/addicts, and their families.

Long-term services provide a program of treatment with personal care services to chronically impaired alcoholics/addicts with impaired self-maintenance capabilities. These patients need personal guidance to maintain abstinence and good health.

Who is eligible: Persons eligible for the ADATSA program, TANF, SSI or Medicaid program.

Persons/children whose family income falls in a low-income category.

Income and Resource Limits: Individuals are eligible for DASA-funded services if they are recipients of public assistance grant programs, medical assistance programs, or are low-income. Low income is defined as income below 80% of the State Median Income.

Program Requirements: Individuals must be clinically assessed as meeting American Society for Addiction Medicine (ASAM) criteria for admission to residential treatment. For persons applying for treatment under the Alcoholism and Drug Addiction Treatment and Support Act (ADATSA), eligibility is further restricted to those who are unemployable as a result of their alcohol or other drug addiction.

Other Requirements: Priority populations are youth, pregnant, and IV drug users

How to apply/get services: Recipients of public assistance/medical assistance programs access services through ADATSA assessment centers. People wanting to apply for the ADATSA program must apply at the local Community Services Office (CSO) and then be referred by the ADATSA assessment center.

Find a local DSHS office or apply for services on-line or find a DASA certified treatment agency.
