The Statewide Self-Assessment systematically studied the Department's child welfare system. The creation of the report involved:

  • Consultations with Tribes and Tribal organizations
  • Focus groups with foster parents
  • Development and analysis of new data
  • Meetings with providers and partners

On completion, the Statewide Assessment was provided to our federal partners before they conducted the next step in the process - the onsite review.
