Resource Family Training Institute

Meet the Trainers

Guardians of dependent children and kinship families are welcome to attend all classes provided statewide by the Resource Family Institute, free of charge, whether or not you are licensed.

Carolyn Jones

Carolyn Jones earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology from Long Island University in New York and a Master’s Degree in Social Work from Eastern Washington University. She is certified by the Academy of Certified Social Workers for self-regulated practice.

A former perinatal social worker, Ms Jones has worked with at risk families for more than twenty years. During the last decade, Ms Jones has served as Executive Director of Vanessa Behan Crisis Nursery and Director of the YWCA of Spokane’s Alternatives to Domestic Violence Program, for battered women and children. She has met Washington State standards for Supervision of Domestic Violence Perpetrator Treatment programs and participated in the implementation of Spokane’s Regional Domestic Violence Prosecution Unit.

Ms. Jones is the 1997 recipient of Rotary International’s Jean Harris Award for work to improve the lives of women and children and was named a Women of Distinction by the Women’s Association of the Community Colleges of Spokane.

She serves as Program Manager for Online Training for the Resource Family Training Institute.
