Frequently Asked Questions Providers Have About FamLink and PaymentsWhat is FamLink?FamLink is a new case management information system that Children's Administration implemented February 1, 2009. FamLink replaces CAMIS, the case management system Children's Administration has used since the early 1990s. Will providers receive payments from FamLink?No, providers will continue to receive payments from the Social Service Payment System, SSPS. What impact will FamLink have on providers?Providers will notice very few changes in their regular business practice; they will continue to receive payment and invoices or notices from SSPS. The names of services have changed a little and the numbers connected to services have also changed. Why would a provider receive another social services notice if they are already authorized to serve a child for another 1-5 months?As CA staff check to be sure services are accurate in the new system, new notices are sent to providers. What about validating invoices?This process has not changed. What other changes can providers expect?Many providers will no longer receive Social Service Notices which are also known as "authorizations". These providers will receive written referrals from CA. For those providers who still receive notices, they will come every month and show an effective date for only one month. The provider will receive the notice around the 10th of the month. Why not send notices out every 6 months for ongoing services, as is the current practice?Longer authorization periods are no longer possible with FamLink. If the notice doesn't arrive until the 10th of the month, how will the provider know they are authorized continue to provide services?If a provider:
