Services That Will No Longer Receive Social Service Notices
(aka Authorizations)

The launch of the new FamLink information system will require Children's Administration to make some minor changes in the way it currently does business with some providers. One change will occur in the frequency with which Social Service Notices (aka Authorizations) will be issued by SSPS. Social Service Notices will be issued monthly and show an end date at the end of the month. In addition, these notices will not be sent until around the 15th of the month, for ongoing services. This automated process will be costly to Children's Administration and may be problematic for some providers.

For these reasons, Children's Administration has instructed SSPS not to issue any notices or authorizations for a number of services where our current practice is to send the provider a referral form that also serves as an authorization to provide services. The following is a list of services that will not receive a notice from SSPS, even though payments will continue to be made through that system.

  • Behavioral Rehabilitation Services
  • Crisis Family Intervention
  • Family Preservations Services
  • Functional Family Therapy
  • Intensive Family Preservation Services
  • Mental Health, Psychological and Counseling Services
  • Parent Child Interaction Therapy
