The State Assessment systematically studied Washington's child welfare system. This assessment provides the foundation for the collaborative on-site review and the development of a program improvement plan. This assessment reflects the input of a diverse audience including:

Consumers
Advocates
Direct service providers
State staff
Judicial partners
Youth
Tribal leaders and representatives
Foundation and philanthropic partners
Other champions for children and families served by the public child welfare system

On completion, the State Assessment was provided to our federal partners before they conducted the next step in the process - the onsite review.
