Foster Youth & Alumni Leadership SummitOctober 7-8, 2006 at the Cedarbrook Leadership Center in SeaTac The Summit is a leadership and skill-building opportunity for current and former foster youth and their supporters who are interested in establishing local foster youth and alumni action groups that can elevate their voice and unique perspective to create change in their lives and the lives of others who are in foster care. We will be selecting 10 foster youth and alumni, ages 14-24, from each region (totaling 60) who have demonstrated leadership abilities and want to partake in a foster youth and alumni action group in their area. What if I am an Ally/Adult Supporter and want to help with the Summit? If you are interested in supporting an action group in your area then you can apply to attend this summit. As a supporter you will mentor and support these groups in their development and provide guidance when consulted. The groups are foster youth/alumni focused and driven. This is a voluntary time commitment which will usually occur in the evenings or on weekends. To request a supporter application, contact Lissa Osborne at (206)354-4259. |
