Send client related reports via encrypted email

This ensures confidential treatment of client personal information, as required by law.

Steps for getting an encrypted email account

  1. CA staff sends you an email containing the subject line of "encrypt-account".
  2. You reply to that email; your response is securely transmitted to the sender of the original message.
  3. CA staff phones you with your account password. You can reset this password or obtain assistance at https://fortress.wa.gov/dshs/ime/. See instructions below to reset your password.

This secure email system is supported by the following browsers and works with Word 2003 and 2007:

  • Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.0 and above
  • Netscape Navigator 4.7 and above

How to reset your password

To reset your password:

  • Go to https://fortress.wa.gov/dshs/ime/.
  • Enter your complete email address.
  • Click on 'Reset My Password' link and the system will send a new, temporary password to your Inbox.
  • Return to the Secure Email homepage as above.
  • Enter your Email Address as User-ID and then enter the new temporary password, and click Login.
  • The Secure Email System will then prompt you to create a new, personal password that will be good for 180 days.
