Interpreter Recruitment
Attention all individuals interested in becoming DSHS certified/qualified interpreters!
The Department of Social & Health Services (DSHS) needs your bilingual skills to help provide services to eligible Limited-English-Proficient clients. We need interpreters for all spoken languages, but are currently experiencing an urgent need in the following languages: Vietnamese, Cambodian, Laotian, Arabic, Farsi, Swahili, Somali, Sudanese, Punjabi, Ukrainian and other hard-to-find languages.
Please help your community by helping eligible clients access needed medical services, and at the same time get paid for your bilingual skills.
We encourage you to become a certified or qualified Interpreter by taking the test offered by the DSHS Language Testing & Certification (LTC) program. To learn more about the language testing and certification process, and to view the Examination Manual, please visit the LTC website at: http://www.dshs.wa.gov/msa/LTC/. You can find the Examination Application on Page 21 of the Examination Manual. You can also learn more about becoming a certified or qualified interpreter by calling the DSHS Interpreter Services Program at (360) 725-1721.
