Opioid Treatment Program (OTP) Accreditation

DBHR is an approved Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), Center for Substance Abuse Treatment (CSAT), Opioid Treatment Program (OTP) Accreditation Body.  DBHR is one of six accreditation bodies approved nationwide, and was the first state agency to receive the approval from CSAT.   This approval allows DBHR to combine state certification and federal accreditation processes into a single process for OTPs.  This will allow providers to address only one set of regulations and prepare for only one on-site survey by a regulatory agency instead of two.  Approval reduces the overall cost of certification and accreditation to the OTPs, allowing more of their existing resources to be spent on treatment rather than on federal and state regulatory activities.

If you have any questions about OTP accreditation/certification, call Deb Cummins at 360-725-3716 or e-mail cummida@dshs.wa.gov.
