Problem Gambling ChangesEffective October 3rd, TARGET implemented a module for the Problem Gambling project that impacts providers of that service as well as all other TARGET agencies. Agencies will notice that the assessment type of “Gambling” has been added in addition to separate questions for gambling only. These questions are used exclusively by those that are part of the Gambling project. Chemical dependency agencies that are not part of the project will not be effected other then visually observing some screen changes and the addition of additional funding question on the admission and assessment pages. The only direct effect to CD agencies is the addition, on page one, of a new required entry for Admission Type with responses of “CD”, “Gambling” or “CD and Gambling”. Chemical dependency treatment agencies will choose “CD” (the default) and disregard the Gambling data entry screen. The DSHS 04-416 form will not be modified at this time to reflect these changes since the gambling treatment agencies have a special draft form that they will use to reflect these choices. Public Assistance FiltersWith the biennium changes around funding, treatment expansion etc, the TARGET question on public assistance type was moved to the last page or as part of the funding record. All users will notice that in the September release of TARGET, the reports filters now show a filter for public assistance type. The filters page is common to all reports formats so that even though users see that as an option, it will only be available as an option on this release for the M or Management reports. We will progressively implement this option availability to all the reports but the first to roll out are the M’s with the D’s & C’s next. It is being programmed and needs testing and validation by our staff before we authorize it’s inclusion in next months release. We do not anticipate and great problems but it must pass testing and validation before we implement it for our TARGET users. TARGET TrainingTARGET classes will be held in the following locations. Both counselors and data entry personnel are invited to attend. If you would like to register for this training please contact David Moore at (360) 725-8216. Pre-Registration is required.
