The purpose of this Subcommittee is to focus primarily on the impact of legislation, public policies, and practices particularly on affected children and their families, including in institutional, residential facilities, and/or community settings.

The Adult Consumer Sub-committee works on many projects and issues that deal with civil rights, recovery and policy design and implementation.

The purpose of this Mental Health Planning and Advisory Council subcommittee is to promote age and cultural competence, including comparable access to and outcomes of service in the public mental health system. One area of focus of the group is on the impact of legislation, public policies, and practices particularly on affected ethnic/cultural minorities in institutional, residential facilities, and/or community settings.

The purpose of this Mental Health Planning and Advisory Council subcommittee is to coordinate with the other Council Subcommittees to review, analyze, and evaluate the effectiveness based on costs and consumer outcomes of existing publicly funded policies and practices that pertain to access, treatment, rehabilitation, and reintegration of adults affected by serious mental illnesses and of children affected by serious emotional disorders, including recommending eliminations, expansions, and/or modifications for consideration by the Council.

The Mission of the Mental Health Planning and Advisory Council (MHPAC)/Legislative/Administrative Subcommittee The mission of the Legislative Subcommittee is to coordinate with other MHPAC Subcommittees to review and/or propose public policy and/or practices that provides overall strategies to improve the quality of health care by providing access, treatment, recovery, and building resiliency for adults and/or children affected by mental illness including recommending positions and actions on legislation, administrative code, and Division of Behavioral Health and Recovery (DBHR) contracts for consideration by the MHPAC.
