The videos listed below were developed by the Division of Developmental Disabilities to supplement the division’s Supports Intensity Scale (SIS) Assessment training curriculum.
These videos provide training participants with information regarding “best practices” in:
Making an appointment;
Conducting an interview;
Administering the Home Living Activities subscale;
Administering the Community Living Activities subscale; and
Administering the Health and Safety Activities subscale.
These training videos should not be viewed as a way to train the SIS. They are designed to supplement an approved training curriculum by the American Association on Intellectual and Developmental disabilities (AAIDD). The videos assist training participants to conceptualize how a SIS might be administered and to facilitate discussion regarding SIS questions, expanded item descriptions, and how ratings are determined that represent a person’s support needs for assessed activities and tasks.
For additional information, please contact Mark Eliason at 360/725-2517 or email at eliasmr2@dshs.wa.gov.
Note: The Home Living Activities subscale includes use of a DDD added question that is not part of the SIS.
