Employment) is DVR's response to stimulus funding. The Project H.I.R.E contract is
entered into with various community organizations and agencies. These programs
provide a variety of services to rapidly place DVR customers into high
wage and high demand occupations to obtain and/or maintain competitive
employment.
Organizations including community colleges and Workforce Development Councils
in the community have agreed to help serve VR eligible, employment ready job
seekers. They will assist in recruiting job ready individuals and identify
employment opportunities that result in accelerated placement in:
- full-time jobs (35+ hours per week) with benefits
- earning mid-to-high wages ($15/per hour depending on the area)
- in demand occupations – such as health care, information technology, green jobs, energy, manufacturing, aerospace, international trade, other stimulus projects
