188: SSN MISMATCH
Alert 188 is a two-tiered alert, where the second tier is the SOLQ inquiry. Alert 188 generates in the following 3 situations:
188: SSN MISMATCH. CORRECT SSN PROVIDED BELOW. VALIDATE WITH SOLQ.
This alert generates when the SSN on the DEM1 screen is not an exact match, but is only one character off and a match is made with the client’s name and birth date.

Enter [Y] in the selection field to view the second tier of the alert.
Update the client’s DEM1 screen with the correct SSN as appropriate.
188: SSN MISMATCH. DOB DOES NOT MATCH
This alert generates when SSN data cannot be matched with the submitted name and birth date. The DOB displays on the alert remarks line as it appears in the SSN verification records.

Update the client’s DEM1 screen with the correct birth date as appropriate.
188: SSN MISMATCH. NAME DOES NOT MATCH
This alert generates when SSN data cannot be matched with the submitted name and birth date. The Alert remarks line indicates that the SSN cannot be match to the name and birth date.

Enter [Y] in the selection field to view the second tier of the alert.
Determine where the discrepancy lies:
If the name and birthdate are correct, verify the correct SSN.
If the SSN is correct, verify the correct name and birth date.
Update the client’s DEM1 screen as appropriate.
