191: CHECK PAYMENT STATUS FOR SSA SUSPENSE

A two-tiered alert generated for a client who is active on ACES when the payment status code on the incoming BENDEX file shows a suspended status for the SSA benefit. The user needs to review information on the (BENT) and update ACES if necessary.

This is a SDX and BENDEX alert.

PROCEDURE

1.      View the second tier of the alert by entering a [Y] in the Sel field and pressing <F13> to view the SDX information.

2.      To interpret what the Payment Status and Communication Codes listed mean, use the <F1> help key.

3.      Determine suspense / termination reason.

4.      If client is disabled and suspended from receiving benefits, determine how this action affects eligibility for active programs.

Most of these alerts may be generated as a result of the client receiving dependent / beneficiary benefits while a minor. Termination generally results in the child becoming an adult and ineligible for continued SSA benefits.

5.      If this alert information is old data, document results of inquiry in the remarks or narrative and disposition the alert.
