431: SPOUSE IN THE LIS FILE DECEASED PER ACES

DESCRIPTION

This two-tier alert generates when the client’s spouse is coded as deceased in ACES but the LIS (Low Income Subsidy)  file does not. In this situation, the spouse is not automatically added to the S03 (Qualified Medicare Beneficiary (QMB)) AU.

PROCEDURE

1.    Review the discrepancy to determine if the spouse is deceased.

2.    If the spouse is not deceased, add the spouse to the S03 AU following the steps in Screening – Add a Person. 

DISPOSITION

Enter [Y] in the D field and <TRANSMIT>.
