What is the Numident Interface?

 

·         The Numident interface is a monthly interface sent through the Income and Eligibility Verification System (IEVS). 

 

What information is included in the Numident Interface?

 

·         Each month ACES produces a tape consisting of clients Social Security numbers (SSNs) that:

 

o    Have not been federally verified.

 

o    Are not considered alias SSNs.


NOTE:

An alias social security number is indicated by the user as an SSN previously associated with the client but known to not be a valid or current SSN.


 

·         This tape is sent to Social Security Administration (SSA) for verification of SSNs.

 

·         SSA attempts to match client data to the information contained in their Numident SSN Master File.

 

What information is returned to ACES from the Numident Tape?

 

·         SSA returns a Numident Results Tape to ACES and compares the information to client data to determine if any changes such as name or date of birth have been made to the ACES client data.

 

·          Alert 253- SOCIAL SECURITY/SSA DISCREPANCY-SEE 2ND TIER FOR DETAILS generates to the user of record for clients who do not have a match between the Numident Results Tape and ACES client information. See alert information for processing.
