What is the Medicare Buy-In interface?
· The Medicare Buy-In interface is an exchange of information between ACES and the Health Care Financing Administration (HCFA) to ensure clients are added or deleted from the State’s Medicare Buy-In program. This interface runs monthly.
What information is sent in the Buy-In file?
· ACES sends a potential Buy-In file of clients who appear to be eligible for Buy-In but who have not yet been identified by either ACES or HCFA as having been “bought in”.
What system updates occur as a result of the Buy-In interface?
· ACES uses the data received back from HCFA to automatically update changes of Medicare Part A and Part B premium payment data on the TPL1 screen in the Paid By field.
· ACES also uses the transaction data to update clients’ Medicare (Title XVIII) data. | |
