Revised October 5, 2012

What is the SDX Interface?

How does ACES match client information to the SDX data?

What system updates occur as a result of the SDX interface?

What alerts are generated out of SDX interface?

Where do I view SDX information?

What is the SDX interface?

·         The SDX interface provides information to ACES from Social Security Administration (SSA) on Supplemental Security Income (SSI) recipients living in Washington State.  The information is provided on a daily basis.

NOTE:

SDX verifies only SSI income.  Use BENDEX  to verify SSA amounts.

How does ACES match client information to the SDX data?

·         To be considered a match between an ACES client and a person listed on the SDX files, the following apply:

o   An identical  Social Security Number match

o   If  the date of birth is within 3 months plus or minus (+/-)

o   The same first four letters of the first name matches

o   The same first six letters of the last name, however, the system will process names differently if there is not an exact match of the first six letters in the following situations:

¨        Any non-alphabetic characters (such as spaces, hyphens, or apostrophes) will be disregarded.

EXAMPLE

  Margaret Day-Lewis                 Margaret Daylewis

Margaret Day – Lewis              Margaret Daylewis

Sandra Day-O’Connor             Sandra Dayoconnor

Sandra Day – O’Connor          Sandra Dayoconnor

¨        Any suffix will be considered part of the last name, if the last name has less than six alphabetical characters and a suffix.

EXAMPLE

  John Si Jr                                 Johnsijr

John Leed Jr                            Leedjr

¨        The order of the names will be changed and again attempt to match on the first 4 letters of the first name and the first 6 letters of the last name.

EXAMPLE

If ACES has the client listed as John Michael and SDX has the client listed as Michael John, the system will change the order of the first and last name and consider this a match, if there is also an exact match on the SSN and the date of birth is within 3 months plus or minus (+/-)

What system updates occur as a result of the SDX interface?

·         For each match, ACES compares the SSI information to client information and:

o    Updates the UNER screen for SSI income changes.

¨        See examples for benefit recalculation information after ACES has matched a client and updated the UNER screen;

EXAMPLE

1)  On 3/10/10, ACES updates the UNER screen with the client’s new SSI amount for April benefits.  ACES will recalculate benefits 3/13/10 when ELIG RECALCs run.

2)  On 3/27/10 (after monthly issuance, ongoing month is May 2010), ACES updates the UNER screen with the client’s new SSI amount for May benefits.  ACES will recalculate May benefits 4/10/10 when ELIG RECALCs run.

3)  On 3/20/10, (after ELIG RECALC, before monthly issuance), ACES updates the UNER screen with a new SSI amount for April benefits.  ACES recalculates benefits in overnight batch.

See ACES Production Calendar for ELIG RECALC dates.

o    Opens S01.  See How is S01 opened?

¨        If AUTO is unable to open S01, see What happens when ACES does not AUTO-open S01?

o    Opens WASHCAP.  See When is a WASHCAP case opened?

¨        If AUTO is unable to open WASHCAP, see When is AUTO-open not possible?
