What is the Social Service Payment System (SSPS)?
· SSPS is used to provide authorization and payment processing to certain providers for social services such as child care.
· For more information about the SSPS, see the Social Service Payment System website.
· ACES receives information from SSPS on clients who receive SSPS payments. The purpose of the interface is to determine if a client is receiving payments from both systems (ACES and SSPS).
How often does the SSPS interface run?
· The interface runs:
o When a new AU is screened.
o When adding a person.
o One day prior to the date of an eligibility appointment.
What happens when there is a match between SSPS and ACES?
· When ACES finds a match and no income is coded on the EARN screen, it generates two-tiered Alert 292 - SSPS EARNINGS NOT REPORTED TO ACES. The second tier of the alert displays up to six months of SSPS payment and service data.
How do I access the SSPS payment information?
· SSPS payment information can be accessed from the LMEN screen.
1. Enter Option P - SSPS Inquiry in the Selection field.
2. Enter the [client’s SSN] in the Client SSN field and <TRANSMIT>.
· The LMEN can also be accessed from the client's EARN screen by pressing <F20>.
