Who is eligible to receive G01 medical?

 

·         Clients active on a disability lifeline Cash (G01) AU with a Financial Responsibility code of RE (Recipient) receive G01 (Med Care Svc Unemployed/GA Unemployed/GA Regular/GA-A/B/D) medical coverage in addition to GA cash benefits. ·         General assistance includes these programs:

 

o    GA-A - Disability Lifeline - Categorically Needy Medical for Aged

 

o    GA-B - Disability Lifeline- Categorically Needy Medical for Blind

 

o    GA-D - Disability Lifeline - Disabled (ODI and PEP Approved)

 

o    GA-R - Disability Lifeline - Categorically Needy Medical for a Person Over 18 but Not Yet 19 Years of Age

 

o    GA-U - Disability Lifeline - Unemployable

 

Who is eligible to receive G02 medical?

 

·         Clients active on a disability lifeline medical G02 AU with a Financial Responsibility code of RE (Recipient) receive G02 (GA Cash A, B, D, X) medical coverage in addition to GA cash benefits. Clients who meet the criteria in the following WACs may be eligible for G02 cash and medical:

 

o    WAC 182-512-0050 SSI related medical – General information.

 

o    WAC 182-512-0100 SSI related medical – Categorically needy (CN) medical eligibility.

When is a GA cash recipient not eligible to receive G01 or G02 medical?

 

·         Disability lifeline recipients who do not cooperate with the Third Party Liability (TPL) process are not eligible to receive G01 or G02 medical assistance, but may still receive a GAU cash benefit. These clients will have a Financial Responsibility code of RC (Recipient of Cash Only). See EAZ Manual – Medical Assistance – Third Party Liability (TPL).


NOTE:

Persons who are currently ineligible for TANF due to  WorkFirst - Sanction WAC 388-310-1600 are not eligible for disability lifeline assistance.

What is the difference between G01 and G02 medical?

 

·         Recipients of the G01 Medical Program are not eligible for out of State care or Personal Care Services (except for GA-R). 

 

·         Recipients of disability lifeline-Expedited Medicaid (G02 and GA-R) Program receive full scope Medicaid Coverage, out of State care and Personal Care Services.

What do I do when CN medical has been approved for a period prior to G01 or G02 approval?

 

·         When a GA client has been found eligible for CN medical for a time period prior to the G01/G02 approval, take the following steps:

 

1.    Screen an S02 AU using the CN medical approval date as the application date, following the instructions in the Screening chapter.

 

2.    Complete interview following the steps in the Interview chapter.

 

3.    Process all pending months following the instructions in the Process Application Month chapter.

 

o    Enter a 500-level reason code to deny all months that overlap the active G01/G02 AU, except for the G01 opening month.

 

o    Close the G01 opening month with a 500 level reason code.

 

o    Ignore the system-generated overpayment and document.

 

How do I change an active GA AU from G01 to G02 medical coverage?

 

·         To change medical coverage from G01 to G02 when a client’s status changes from incapacity to disabled, take the following steps:

 

1.    From the AMEN screen, select Option R – Interim/Hist Change. 

 

2.    On the DEM2 screen, in the Disability/Incapacity section:           

 

o    Enter the [appropriate valid value based on the client’s situation] in the Dis/Incp Type field. See <F1> Help.

 

o    Enter the [appropriate valid values] in the Approv Source field, Approv Date field, Estab Date field, and End Date field. See <F1> Help.

 

3.    Call DONE and <Transmit>.

 

4.    Complete this process for all months the client’s disability was approved to ensure the client has appropriate coverage for all months approved. 


NOTE:

A G01 AU will trickle to G02 if the ISW referral returns with a disability determination.  It is not necessary to screen a separate G02 AU.
