Purpose: This chapter explains chemical dependency treatment services available through public assistance.

This category contains the rules for program services and determining client eligibility for:

  1. The alcohol/drug Detoxification program; and

  2. The Alcoholism and Drug Addiction Treatment and Support Act (ADATSA) program.  The ADATSA legislation established both a program of public assistance and a fund source to provide treatment services for people incapacitated due to alcohol or drug addiction. The ADATSA public assistance program provides treatment which provides funding to pay for:

    1. A possible living allowance while participating in outpatient treatment,

    2. Medical assistance, and

    3. Treatment services

  3. This category also provides information on the access to chemical dependency treatment services for recipients of other public assistance programs and low-income clients who do not receive public assistance.
