Chemical Dependency Treatment - Pioneer Centers North & East

Revised December 15, 2011

Purpose: This section describes the ADATSA services available at Pioneer Center North (PCN) and Pioneer Center East. Pioneer Center North is a private, non-profit chemical dependency treatment facility in Sedro Woolley, WA. Pioneer Center East is in Spokane. Both facilities provide treatment for persons who are involuntarily committed.

CLARIFYING INFORMATION

  1. Residents of Pioneer Center North (PCN) and Pioneer Center East (PCE) may receive ADATSA medical assistance if the CSO determines them to be financially eligible.
  2. An ADATSA client who is placed into PCN or PCE is open in ACES and authorized for medical assistance.
  3. An individual receiving assistance under another cash program who enters PCN or PCE is handled according to the rules of the other program.

EXAMPLE

  1. An ABD cash recipient remains on the cash program but the grant is changed to the CPI standard.
  2. A TANF recipient who remains on TANF but the grant is not changed until the client has been in the facility for 180 days.

  1. The referring CSO has responsibility for opening medical for an individual already receiving food assistance.
  2. A resident of PCN or PCE, not currently receiving assistance who wishes to receive medical assistance must apply for ADATSA at the Mt. Vernon CSO or Spokane CSO.  If financially eligible, the Mt. Vernon or Spokane CSO waives the ADATSA requirement for an assessment, and places the individual temporarily on the ADATSA treatment program.
  3. Do not transfer open cases to the Mt. Vernon or Spokane CSO unless Mt. Vernon or the Spokane CSO request the transfer.
  4. If the Mt. Vernon or Spokane CSO has the open financial record, the Mt. Vernon CSO or Spokane CSO will transfer the record to the CSO of the client's residence upon completion of the client's stay at PCN or PCE. This applies even if the client continues in treatment elsewhere.

NOTE: This is the only exception to the NO TRANSFER of ADATSA clients.
