All tribal areas are exempt from participation in FS E&T and ABAWD activities.

Exemptions may be due to waivers or because services are not provided in the area or remoteness.

The 15% exemption (‘SW’) is used for ABAWDS and the State exemption “remoteness” (‘RM’) is used for non-ABAWDS.

* The department only offers FS E&T Services for non-ABAWDS in King County and on a limited basis in Snohomish and Whatcom Counties. Other areas of the state must still screen household members to determine if they are a mandatory participant and register them for work.
