OLYMPIA -- The state Department of Social and Health Services has stopped admissions and revoked the license of MMC, a privately operated adult family home at 2530 South Brandon Court, Seattle.

The home is licensed to Beatriz and Rudolfo Turla.

The state took the action after finding numerous violations that affected the safety and well-being of residents. The violations include but are not limited to the licensee's failure to:

• Follow minimum licensing requirements required of licensed adult family home providers.
• Contact a physician to report changes in the physical condition of a resident, causing the person to go without medical attention from August 2007 until March 24, 2008, when 911 was called.
• Ensure two staff had a two-step tuberculosis skin test performed one to three weeks apart.
• Ensure that two residents had complete or accurate medication logs, leaving them at risk of not getting their medication.
• Follow the license conditions that a registered nurse provides weekly consultation for the care and health management of the residents.

The provider has the right to contest the stop placement and revocation by requesting an administrative hearing within 28 days of state notification. Residents may stay in the home pending resolution of the appeal process. If residents choose to remain, DSHS will continue to monitor the home for resident safety.
