DSHS stops admissions to Marysville adult family home

OLYMPIA - Admissions have been stopped at the privately operated Beach House and Lakeviews Cedar House, 1355 Beach Avenue and 1401 Cedar Avenue, Marysville.

The adult family home is licensed to Dean and Shirley Wicka.

The state took the action after finding violations that adversely affected the safety and well-being of residents.  The violations include but are not limited to:

While the homes are in stop placement, licensee may not admit residents.

The provider has the right to contest the stop placements by requesting an administrative hearing within 28 days of state notification.  Current residents may stay in the home pending completion of the appeal process.  If a resident chooses to remain, DSHS will continue to monitor the homes for resident safety.
