Who We Are
Washington State's Juvenile Justice State Advisory Group, the GJJAC, was established to implement the federal Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention Act in Washington State. Prior to that time, the State Advisory Group was a committee of the Governor's Council on Criminal Justice. Members of the GJJAC are appointed by the Governor and are juvenile justice professionals and knowledgeable private citizens, and represent all sectors of the juvenile justice system and all geographical areas of the State.

The 22-member GJJAC is chaired by Janice O'Mahony of Langley, WA. Office of Juvenile Justice Staff are responsible for planning, directing, and administering all functions and activities of the GJJAC Ryan Pinto is the Office Chief.
In addition to the Title II (Part B) Formula Grant Funds, the GJJAC administers the Title V Delinquency Prevention Grant Program and funding for Juvenile Detention Alternatives Inititiative from the Annie E. Casey Foundation, a combined annual total of approximately 1.5 million dollars in funding.
