DSHS GMAP

Government Management Accountability & Performance

The mission of the Department of Social and Health Services is to improve the safety and health of individuals, families, and communities by providing leadership and establishing and participating in partnerships.

Through the strategic planning process, we set goals, and monitor our performance measures to achieve results that matter to citizens. We work with the Governor’s GMAP office to prepare performance-based reports in DataView - for the Governor and her leadership team. These reports focus on our agency‘s results in the highest priority areas to support a focused management discussion – in open public forums – between DSHS leaders, the Governor and her leadership team.

DataView

DataView is the Web-based tool agency's use to manage performance. DSHS uses DataView to prepare performance reports for the Governor and her leadership team. DataView allows for immediate accessible information that can drill down to the data behind each measure. As a result, decision-making is faster and more transparent to the public.

DSHS also conducts internal GMAP forums that focus on progress related to cross-agency performance and system improvement. Critical management issues are also discussed as they surface in the forums.
