DSHS CI Provider Training

Audience

This course is offered by the Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS) to care providers working in Adult Family Homes.

Course Overview

These online learning materials are available for adult family home care providers who could not attend the instructor-led-training presented to attendees of the 2017 Spring Conferences. The purpose of this training is to communicate changes related to the 2017-2019 Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA). Specifically, this training will address:  (a) Community Integration (CI), (b) Medical Mileage Reimbursement, and (c) Exception to Rule (ETR).

Community Integration

The training focuses on Community Integration. CI provides residents with opportunities to engage in their local communities through participation in relationships, activities, organizations, and community based services that are personally meaningful to them. Community Integration can be authorized for interested Medicaid residents who are DSHS-funded, NOT participating in the PACE program, and who cannot independently access the community or who do not have informal supports providing that access. Community Integration can be used to reimburse providers for planning activities, assisting clients during participation, and mileage (restrictions apply).

Requirements

The online training is browser-based, meaning that you view the training materials in a web browser. It is HTML5 content created using Articulate StoryLine 2. Google Chrome is recommended, but the materials have been tested with Internet Explorer as well. There is no audio. Please (temporarily) turn off pop-up blocking in your browser (Instructions for Chrome / Instructions for Internet Explorer 11). If popups are blocked, you will NOT miss any crucial content.
