Our Services and Outcomes
The Division of Behavioral Health and Recovery (DBHR) is part of the Behavioral Health Administration (BHA) within DSHS (view our mission and core values). DBHR was organized in 2009 to integrate state-funded services for substance use, mental health and problem gambling. Our goals are to provide holistic, person-centered care that addresses medical and behavioral health needs together.
BHA's core services focus on:
- Individual Support: Providing support to clients who face challenges with addictions or mental illness, and preventing substance abuse and problem gambling.
- Health Care Quality and Costs: Designing and implementing integrated care systems, with other DSHS administrations and the Health Care Authority. This will improve our clients' health and contain health care costs.
- Administration: Providing management infrastructure to support administrative functions such as accounting, fiscal, forecasting, contracting and information technology.
