2018 Seattle Mariners “We Are Family” Day

Children’s Administration is looking for a teenage girl to throw out the ceremonial First Pitch at the 2018 Seattle Mariners “We Are Family” day in late May 2018.  Next year’s event will celebrate 10 years of foster parent recruitment and appreciation with the Mariners.

To be eligible, the youth must currently be in placed in foster care or relative care through Children’s Administration, adopted from foster care, in a legal guardianship following a foster care placement or in a permanent third-party custody arrangement with a relative. The youth also must be able to throw a baseball approximately 60 feet, which is the length from the pitching mound to the home plate.

If you know of a teen 12 to 18 years of age who would like to be considered to throw the Mariners’ first pitch in honor of We Are Family Day, contact Meri at 360-902-8035 or waterML@dshs.wa.gov.
