The Medicare Buy-In interface is an exchange of information between ACES and the Health Care Financing Administration (HCFA) to ensure clients are added or deleted from the State’s Medicare Buy-In program. This interface runs monthly.
ACES sends a potential Buy-In file of clients who appear to be eligible for Buy-In but who have not yet been identified by either ACES or the Health Care Financing Administration (HCFA) as having been “bought in”.
ACES uses the data received back from the Health Care Financing Administration (HCFA) to automatically update changes of Medicare Part A and Part B premium payment data on the Third Party Liability page in the Last Policy Changed Date field.
This information can also be found in ACES.online on the Third Party Liability page in the Organization Last Change Date field.
ACES also uses the transaction data to update clients’ Medicare (Title XVIII) data.
ACES uses the data received back from the Health Care Financing Administration (HCFA) to automatically update changes of Medicare Part A and Part B premium payment data on the TPL1 screen in the Paid By field.
