The OSPI interface is an interface where ACES sends a file to OSPI that identifies public assistance clients under age 21 who may be eligible for direct certification for free or reduced price student meals.

The file includes children under age 21 that are:
In a household receiving at least $1.00 in Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits.
If a household would be eligible for a monthly SNAP benefit of at least $1.00 but are receiving zero benefits due to a recoupment, then the household is considered eligible for direct certification.
Children who are ineligible members of a household that receives at least $1.00 in SNAP benefits are included in the file as eligible for direct certification.
In an active Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) Assistance Unit (AU) regardless of the household monthly income that includes children with a financial responsibility code of:
Recipient (RE) or Recipient of Cash Only (RC) are sent as TANF cash.
CA Sanctioned Receiving MA Only (RN) are sent as Medicaid recipients.
In a household receiving State-Funded Food Assistance Program (FAP) or State Family Assistance (SFA) and the children meet one of the following criteria:
Homeless and identified by living arrangement code Homeless w/o Housing (HO) or Homeless w/Housing (HH).
Part of a migrant/seasonal farm worker household identified by earned income types Migrant Worker Income (MI) or Seasonal Farm Worker Income (SF), or unearned income type UC due to Seasonal Farmwork (UF).
Part of a household who is active on a SFA Non-MOE (Maintenance of Effort) AU.
