What is the Social Service Payment System (SSPS)?

SSPS is used to provide authorization and payment processing to certain providers for social services such as child care and in-home care giver services. For more information about SSPS, see the Social Service Payment System website.

What is the Social Service Payment System (SSPS) interface?

ACES receives information from SSPS on clients who receive SSPS payments. The purpose of the interface is to determine if a client is receiving payments from both systems (ACES and SSPS).

How often does the Social Service Payment System (SSPS) interface run?

The interface runs:

  • When a new Assistance Unit (AU) is screened.
  • When adding a person to an AU.
  • One day prior to the date of an eligibility appointment.

What happens when there is a match between Social Service Payment System (SSPS) and ACES?

When ACES finds a match and no income is coded on the Earned Income page, it generates two-tiered Alert 292 - SSPS EARNINGS NOT REPORTED TO ACES. The second tier of the alert displays up to six months of SSPS payment and service data.

NOTE: Two-tier alerts are not able to be worked in ACES 3G. The second tier information can be accessed using ACES Mainframe.  For more information, see How do I access two tier alerts?

How do I access the Social Service Payment System (SSPS) payment information?

SSPS payment information can be accessed from the LMEN screen. To view this information, take the following steps:

  1. From the WMEN screen, enter Option L - File Inquiry in the Selection field.
  2. On the LMEN screen, enter Option P - SSPS Inquiry in the Selection field.
  3. Enter the [client’s SSN] in the Client SSN field and <TRANSMIT>.
  • The LMEN can also be accessed from the client's EARN screen by pressing <F20>.
