What is the State Verification Exchange System (SVES)?

The SVES interface works behind the scenes, sending a record from ACES to the Social Security database which verifies client’s citizenship and social security number.

How often is the State Verification Exchange System (SVES) interface file received?

The SVES interface file is received daily.

What information is received from the State Verification Exchange System (SVES) interface?

The following information is received from the SVES interface:

  • Verification of a clients Social Security Number (SSN), date of birth, and name.
  • Verification of a client’s citizenship.
  • Quarterly reported Prisoner Match.

How does the State Verification Exchange System (SVES) verify citizenship for Medicaid clients?

ACES sends a file for Medicaid clients who meet the following criteria:

  • Client status is active or pending on a non-Modified Adjusted Gross Income (MAGI) medical Assistance Unit (AU).
  • Client's Social Security Number verification code is SSA Interface Fed Verified (FV).
  • The Citizenship Verification field is not coded as :
    • Passport, Tribal ID with Picture (T1) or,
    • Certified Birth Certificate (T2) or,
    • Electronically Verified (EW) with the Identity Verification field coded as Electronically Verified by Washington Database (EW) or Verified Identity (V).

If the above criteria are met, then the Social Security database sends a new response file to ACES.

If citizenship is verified, the response record will be processed as follows:

  • The Citizenship Verification field is updated with Federally Verified (FV) and the Identity Verification field is updated to Electronically verified by Federal Government database (F).

If citizenship is not verified, ACES generates Alert - 455 CITIZENSHIP UNABLE TO VERIFY VIA SSA CROSS MATCH to a supervisor assigned to CSO 127 (Citizenship Unit).

How does the State Verification Exchange System (SVES) verify a Social Security Number (SSN)?

ACES sends a file to the Social Security database requesting verification of a client’s SSN. If the SSN is verified, ACES updates the SSN Verification field to Federally Verified (FV).

What is the Prisoner Match interface?

The Prisoner Match interface is an electronic interface between the Social Security prisoner database and ACES. It identifies individuals who are potentially ineligible for benefits.

How often is the Prisoner Match interface sent?

ACES sends daily and monthly files to Social Security. The daily process sends information on new clients that were added through screening that day. The monthly process sends information on clients who are active or suspended.

What information is in the Prisoner Match interface?

This information is displayed in the second tier of Alert - 288 PRISIONER MATCH FOUND - SEE 2ND TIER FOR DETAILS; however, that alert is currently suspended and no longer generates.
