What is the benefit history?

The benefit history displays information about ACES warrants, Basic Food issuances, Annual Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) payments, or Direct Mail Unit issuances.

Online Processing

How do I view the Issuances page in aces.online?

From the Welcome Back page, in the Quick Navigation section take the following steps:

  1. Using the Select a Type of ID drop down menu, select Assistance Unit (AU).
  2. Enter the AU number in the Enter an ID field.
  3. Using the Select a Page drop down menu, select Issuances and click the Go button.  The Issuances summary page displays.

You can also access the Issuance Summary page from any AU level page by hovering over the Benefits link and selecting Issuances from the menu.

What information is displayed on the Issuances page in aces.online?

The Issuances page displays all cash and/or basic food issuances made to an Assistance Unit (AU).  Data on this page includes issuance number, issuance type, issuance amount, status, and status date.  This page displays all of the benefit issuances for the AU listed by issuance date in ascending order.

How do I view details about a specific benefit issuance in aces.online?

After following the steps in How do I view the benefit issuance summary in aces.online, click on the specific issuance number located in the Issue Number column. The Issuances Details page displays detailed information about that specific issuance.

What information is displayed on the Issuances Details page in aces.online?

The Issuances Details page displays a breakdown of items that were included in a specific issuance including recoupments that have been made from the assistance unit.

How do I view benefit issuance summary or detailed information in ACES 3G?

Summaries and/or details for benefit history issuances cannot be viewed in ACES 3G at this time.

What information is displayed on the BENA - Benefit History Master Inquiry screen?

Information about a particular ACES warrant, FCA or Direct Mail Unit issuance is displayed on this screen.

Who has update rights in the Benefit History Master Update?

Only designated Office of Accounting Services staff have the ability to complete benefit history master updates.

How do I view the BENA - Benefit History Master Inquiry screen in ACES?

To view the BENA screen take the following steps:

  1. From the WMEN, select Option J – Benefit History.
  • Benefit history may also be accessed from the STAT, CAFI, FSFI or MAFI screens by pressing <F19>.
  1. On the JMEN screen, select Option A - Benefit History Master Inquiry:
  1. <TRANSMIT> and the BENA screen displays.

What information is displayed on the BENB - Benefit History Detail screen?

The BENB screen displays a breakdown of items that were included in a specific issuance including recoupments that have been made from the assistance unit.

How do I view BENB - Benefit History Detail screen?

To view the BENB screen take the following steps:

  1. From the WMEN, select Option J – Benefit History.
  • Benefit history may also be accessed from the STATCAFIFSFI or MAFI screens by pressing <F19>.
  1. On the JMEN screen, select Option C - Benefit History Detail:
  1. <TRANSMIT> and the BENB screen displays.

What information is displayed on the BENL – Benefit History Listing screen?

The BENL screen displays all cash and/or basic food issuances made to an Assistance Unit (AU).  Data on this page includes issuance number, issuance type, issuance amount, status, and status date.  This page displays all of the benefit issuances for the AU listed by issuance date in ascending order.

How do I view BENL - Benefit History Listing screen?

· To view the BENL screen take the following steps:

  1. From the WMEN, select Option J – Benefit History.
  • Benefit history may also be accessed from the STATCAFIFSFI or MAFI screens by pressing <F19>.
  1. On the JMEN screen, select Option D - Benefit History Listing.
  2. Enter the [assistance unit ID] in the AU ID field.
  3. <TRANSMIT> and the BENL screen displays.
NOTE: To view specific details of an issuance, enter [Y] - Yes in the Sel field directly to the left of the issuance and press <F14> for BENA data, <F15> for BENB data, or <F17> for BENS data.

What information is displayed on the BENS – Benefit History Status screen?

The BENS screen displays the historical status for a specific ACES issuance.

The status of an issuance is updated by information received from the Registration and Control of Negotiables (RCN) and Food Stamp Accounting System (FSAS) interfaces. Prior to EBT, information about cashed FCAs was entered here.

NOTE: For benefits issued as warrants, this screen will not show a status of cashed as this information is not available in ACES. Use the Treasurer's Office interface to determine if a warrant has been cashed.

How do I view the BENS - Benefit History Status screen in ACES?

To view the BENS screen:

  1. From the WMEN, select Option J – Benefit History.
  • Benefit history may also be accessed from the STATCAFIFSFI or MAFI screens by pressing <F19>.
  1. On the JMEN screen, select Option G - Benefit History Status:
  1. <TRANSMIT> and the BENS screen displays.
