What is a Chart of Accounts (COA)?

A COA is a created list of the accounts used by the Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS) to define each class of items for which money or the equivalent is spent or received.

How do inquire on the Chart of Accounts and Issuance Type Coding?

Users can inquire on chart of accounts and issuance types on the following ACES Mainframe screens:

  • ITCA - Issuance Type to Chart of Accounts.
  • ITYP - Issuance Type Maintenance.

How do I access the Issuance Type to Chart of Accounts (ITCA) screen?

The ITCA screen displays Charts of Accounts information for a selected Fiscal Year.

To inquire on ITCA data, take the following steps:

  1. In the Selection field on the WMEN screen, enter [I] - Financial Mgmt Misc and <TRANSMIT>.
  2. Enter [B] - Chart of Account Inquiry in the Selection field on the IMEN screen and <TRANSMIT>.
  3. On the COAH screen, enter [the appropriate number for the biennium year] in the Selection field.
  4. Press <TRANSMIT> to view the ITCA screen.

How do I access the Issuance Type Maintenance (ITYP) screen?

The ITYP screen is used to inquire about the information related to ACES issuance types. Issuance types link an issuance with the appropriate chart of accounts codes.

To inquire on ITYP data, take the following steps:

  1. In the Selection field on the WMEN screen, enter [I] - Financial Mgmt Misc and <TRANSMIT>.
  2. Enter [D] - Issuance Type Inquiry in the Selection field on the IMEN screen.
  3. Press <TRANSMIT> and the ITYP screen displays.
