How do I process a living arrangement sanction for an unmarried pregnant minor or minor parent?

To process a living arrangement sanction for an unmarried pregnant minor or minor parent, take the following steps:

Note: If the minor's parent(s) is not applying for assistance, enter the minor parent as the head of household.
  1. Go to the Case Actions page. For more information, see How do I access the Case Actions page in ACES 3G?
  2. Click Start Changes in the Change of Circumstances section on the Case Actions page and update the following:
  • Benefit Month field - Select the month and year from the drop-down list if the sanction is to be done in a historical month.
  1. In the Living Arrangement field, on the Client Details page, select Invalid Living Arrangement (IL) from the drop-down list.
  2. On the Eligibility Details page, confirm the following and click Confirm Benefits:
  • Financial Responsibility field - CA/MA Sanctioned (DI).
  • Reason field - Minor Parent Inappropriate Living Situation (264).
  1. On the Eligibility page, click Commit Changes.

To lift a living arrangement sanction for an unmarried pregnant minor or minor parent, take the following steps.

  1. Go to the Case Actions page. For more information, see How do I access the Case Actions page in ACES 3G?
  2. Click Start Changes in the Change of Circumstances section on the Case Actions page and update the following:
  • Benefit Month field - Select the month and year from the drop-down list if the sanction is to be lifted in a historical month.
  1. In the Living Arrangement field, on the Client Details page, select the appropriate living arrangement from the drop-down list.
  2. On the Eligibility Details page, confirm the client has Financial Responsibility code Recipient (RE) and click Confirm Benefits.
  3. On the Eligibility page, click Commit Changes.

To process a school requirement sanction for an unmarried pregnant minor or minor parent, take the following steps:

  1. Go to the Case Actions page. For more information, see How do I access the Case Actions page in ACES 3G?
  2. Click Start Changes in the Change of Circumstances section on the Case Actions page and update the following:
  • Benefit Month field - Select the month and year from the drop-down list if the sanction is to be done in a historical month.

  • Marital Status field - Select Never Married (N) from the drop-down list.
  • Student Status field - Select Not a Student (NO) from the drop-down list.
  1. On the Eligibility Details page, confirm the following and then click Confirm Benefits:
  • Financial Responsibility field - CA/MA Sanctioned (DI).
  • Reason field - Minor Parent Failed School Requirement (265)
  1. On the Eligibility page, click Commit Changes.

  • Student Status field - Enter [the appropriate student status].
  • Education Level field - Select the education level from the drop-down list.
  1. On the Eligibility Details page, confirm the client has Financial Responsibility code Recipient (RE) and click Confirm Benefits.
  2. On the Eligibility page, click Commit Changes.
