The Food Assistance Program Employment and Training helps people get ready for work as well as find and keep a job. It helps people who receive food assistance build skills as they move towards employment.
FAP participants face employment challenges similar to refugees and immigrants receiving services from the Office of Refugee and Immigrant Assistance. These can include limited English proficiency, lack of education or not being familiar with U.S. work culture, gaps in work history, day-to-day barriers like transportation or temporary and insecure housing. Participation in FAP Employment and Training is voluntary and there is no requirement to participate a certain number of hours.
