Meet David Stillman

David StillmanDavid Stillman is serving as Assistant Secretary for the Economic Services Administration, which provides economic, employment and training, Basic Food, medical and other services to help people in need. He has been in that post since May, 2011.

David was appointed director of the Washington State Division of Child Support within the Department of Social and Health Services on October 1, 2005. He assumed the director role for the Office of Financial Recovery on December 1, 2009. He oversees administrative and policy operations for an organization comprised of 1,100 employees, 11 offices, with annual child support collections of almost $700 million and financial recoveries of approximately $500 million. Additionally, the organization’s customers use $100 million LESS in public assistance benefits because of DCS’ child support collection efforts. Combined, DCS and OFR contribute approximately $1.3 billion annually to help ensure the safety and health of customers, families, communities and the state. David presents at a variety of national and state conferences and serves on a wide variety of national and state work groups and committees. David will serve as the National Child Support Enforcement Association President beginning August 2011. He is also a Western Interstate Child Support Enforcement Council board member and a Past President of WICSEC.

Among his achievements, David is a 2001 recipient of the Governor’s Distinguished Manager award, the highest recognition for a state government manager, and also received the WICSEC Individual Achievement Award in 2004.
