The purpose of this rulemaking is “housekeeping”, replacing the current WAC language in several sections of chapter 388-112A WAC that currently refer to Department of Health (DOH) rules) with a simple reference to the DOH chapter 246-980 WAC. We are proposing to replace all current references to the 200 days allowed for Home Care Aide (HCA) and Nursing Assistant - Certified (NAC) certification with a direct reference to chapter 246-980 WAC. That chapter (including WAC 246-980-025, 246-980-030, 246-980-040, and 246-980-065) is where DOH has codified legislation setting these deadlines and where DOH has made changes to the timeframes for HCA and NAC certification. The Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS) must change the WAC sections below so that the correct reference can be written. WAC Chapters and Sections to be updated include: 388-112A-0010, 388-112A-0050, 388-112A-0060, 388-112A-0070, 388-112A-0090, 388-112A-0105, and 388-112A-0110 |
