We know it is hard to find housing these days! To help address this shortage, our state has provided funding to develop affordable housing opportunities. Our role is to work with housing partners to make sure the people who receive services from us have a place live.
Our Housing Program Manager works with community partners, Department of Commerce, investors, landlords, and local housing authorities throughout the state to help create more accessible and affordable homes for people enrolled in DDCS.
We also provide:
- Technical support for case managers working with the people we serve.
- Technical assistance for people who need environmental modifications to make their home accessible.
How to Ask for Help
-
If you are currently enrolled in DDCS and need help to find housing, please reach out to your case manager. They will come to us for answers to housing questions and resources. If you are not currently enrolled in DDCS, please visit How to Enroll for application information.
-
If you are a housing developer, housing organization or landlord with a housing opportunity, please contact our Housing Program Manager, Molly Hamstreet-Edmon: molly.hamstreet-edmon@dshs.wa.gov
-
If you are a residential service provider, let your Regional Resource Manager know that you are looking for housing to support someone you serve or that you plan to serve soon.
If You’re Facing a Housing Emergency
If you are experiencing an eviction, fire, flood, or another urgent housing crisis and are enrolled in DDCS, please contact your case manager right away. They can submit a referral for additional services, support or resources.
