Personal Care (Hourly)

Personal Care is part of a program called Community First Choice, which provides services and items to support your independence. Personal Care helps with bathing, dressing, eating, taking medication and other daily activities. It can be provided in your own home by an agency or individual provider you choose. It’s also available in an adult family home or an assisted living facility (see below for more on those two services.) As a Medicaid entitlement, personal care is available to anyone who meets functional and financial eligibility.

Personal Care in a Residential Setting (24-hour Availability)

The following licensed settings provide support with your daily care needs, such as bathing, dressing, eating and medication in a setting you share with others. As a Medicaid entitlement, personal care is available to anyone who meets functional and financial eligibility.

They include:

Community Residential Services (up to 24 hours a day)

Residential services offer life skills training and support to live on your own or in a home you share with others. From shopping and bill paying to personal care and learning how to cook, this service helps you with whatever you need to be as independent as possible at home and in your community. Residential services are included as part of the Core Waiver. Availability depends on funding for enrollment openings.
