Our Goal:
Is to provide language access, enhance how we deliver support, and ensure fair access to DSHS program and services.
What We Do:
- Set and maintain qualification standards for DSHS bilingual roles and those providing language access services to DSHS clients.
- Issue medical interpreter credentials.
- Administer language proficiency testing to certify or authorize DSHS bilingual employees, applicants for bilingual positions, and contracted Social Service interpreters and document translators.
- Maintain a roster of qualified interpreters and document translators.
