Participants will receive information about services, supports and resources to help caregivers of individuals with Alzheimer’s and other dementias. The keynote presentation by is by Laura Wymen, known as "The Dementia Whisperer." She will focus on different types of dementia and the difficult behaviors that can occur in them. Breakout sessions will be provided on Legal Issues and Medicaid; Paying for Care; Adapting the Physical Environment and Home Modifications; End of Life, Palliative and Hospice Care; and Experiencing Dementia. A variety of local service providers will also be available to help people become familiar with available resources in Pierce County including in-home supports, long term care facilities, support groups, respite providers and other services.
